In January of that year, the school, which was later renamed Uganda Technical College, opened its doors to 14 day students who began studying Carpentry, Building and Mechanics.

The AIDS Support Organization, TASO

TASO Uganda stands for The AIDS Support Organization. It is an indigenous HIV/AIDS service organization in Uganda founded in 1987 by Noerine Kaleeba and 15 other colleagues some of whom have now passed away due to AIDS.

Joint Clinical Research Center, (JCRC)

Joint Clinical Research Center (JCRC) is a Center of Excellence that was started by H.E. President Yoweri Museveni in 1990 to address the very serious problem of HIV/AIDS, which was at its peak by that time.

Makerere Joint AIDS Program, MJAP

Makerere University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP) is a program of Makerere University School of Medicine, and works with a number of partners to implement quality HIV/AIDS care and treatment in Mulago and Mbarara University Teaching hospitals.
